Mi chiamo Federica Fracassi e sono nata nel 1971 a Cornaredo, un paese alle porte di Milano. Cento per cento campi e pianura. Da bimba è stato bello vivere lì. Da tanti anni ormai la mia casa è in Porta Romana. Sono un’attrice. Forse lo sono stata sempre, forse lo sono diventata. Lavoro con il corpo e con le parole dentro e fuori dal teatro. Mi inerpico su scritture classiche e contemporanee rischiose, visionarie, feroci. Il mio percorso nasce e cresce nelle compagnie indipendenti, si apre ai grandi teatri, attraversa collaborazioni che hanno segnato il mio modo di stare in scena e nel mondo: registi, attori, attrici e autori con cui il teatro è diventato spazio di pensiero, di condivisione, di lotta. Da Ionesco a Pirandello, da Ibsen a Kristof, da Testori a Sgorbani, Moresco, Pisano, Zani, Lispector, Duras, Ernaux: autori che non cercano consolazione, ma che si interrogano sull’essere qui. Lavoro anche nel cinema, mi ci sono affacciata più tardi ma con grande gioia. È un mondo che, attraverso i suoi maestri e le sue maestranze, continua a insegnarmi nuove forme di sguardo.
Mi piace scrivere. Mi piacciono la danza, lo yoga. Mi piace camminare nei prati e nei boschi, andare a cavallo, nuotare, leggere, vedere film, spettacoli, mostre d’arte, mangiare piatti tipici dei posti che visito. Ho da poco cantato con un’orchestra per la prima volta. Vorrei essere più costante nelle pratiche e tornare a studiare violoncello. Mi piacciono le persone, i gatti e le sorprese.
Negli anni ho ricevuto premi importanti, ma quello che continuo a cercare è sempre lo stesso: una scena viva e presente, un dialogo di anime con il pubblico, uno spazio di rischio.
L’idea di avere un mio sito nasce da un pensiero sul tempo. È il tentativo di raggruppare in un luogo le mie esperienze passate e presenti, momenti, istantanee, e di permettervi di conoscermi meglio, sognando insieme il futuro.

My name is Federica Fracassi, and I was born in 1971 in Cornaredo, a town on the outskirts of Milan. Endless fields and flatlands—one hundred percent. As a child, it was a beautiful place to grow up. For many years now, my home has been in Porta Romana.
I am an actress. Perhaps I have always been one, perhaps I became one over time. I work with the body and with words, both inside and outside the theater. I climb into challenging, visionary, and fierce classical and contemporary texts.
My artistic path began and developed within independent companies, later opening up to major theaters, and moving through collaborations that have shaped the way I stand on stage and in the world: directors, actors, actresses, and authors with whom theater has become a space for thought, sharing, and struggle.
From Ionesco to Pirandello, from Ibsen to Kristof, from Testori to Sgorbani, Moresco, Pisano, Zani, Lispector, Duras, Ernaux—authors who do not seek consolation, but question what it means to be here.
I also work in film. I came to it later, but with great joy. It is a world that, through its masters and its craftspeople, continues to teach me new ways of seeing.
I like writing. I enjoy dance and yoga. I love walking through fields and woods, horseback riding, swimming, reading, watching films, performances, and art exhibitions, and tasting local dishes wherever I travel. I recently sang with an orchestra for the first time. I would like to be more consistent in my practices and return to studying the cello. I like people, cats, and surprises.
Over the years, I have received important awards, but what I continue to seek remains the same: a living, present stage, a dialogue of souls with the audience, a space of risk.
The idea of having my own website comes from a reflection on time. It is an attempt to gather my past and present experiences in one place—moments, snapshots—and to allow you to get to know me better, while dreaming together about the future.
